It’s Wednesday and you know what that means: it’s time for another round Connections! (Apologies to those of you who don’t understand this part, but IYKYK.)

The last few games haven’t been too easy, especially given the purple groups. I imagine that many people didn’t understand Monday’s Chinese philosophy.

As far as I know, the Eloise children’s book series that made up yesterday’s Purples doesn’t have much of a footprint at all in the UK, where I grew up. As a child, I was a voracious, open-minded reader and had never heard of this series. I’m curious to see how popular they were/are in North America.

We’re hoping for a slightly easier game today.

Today NYT Connections Hints and answers for Wednesday, November 27th will follow soon.

How to play connections

Connections is a free, popular one New York Times daily pun. You will receive a new puzzle every day at midnight. You can play on that NYT Website or gaming app.

You will be presented with a grid of 16 words. Your task is to divide them into four groups of four by figuring out the connections between them. The groups can be items you can click on, names of research participants, or words preceded by a body part.

Each puzzle has only one solution, and you have to be careful when it comes to words that could fit into more than one category. You can mix up the words to perhaps better see the connections between them.

Each group is color coded. The yellow group is usually the easiest to understand, blue and green are in the middle, and the purple group is usually the most difficult. The purple group often contains puns.

Select four words that you think go together and click Send. If you guess and are wrong, you lose a life. When you’re close to finding the right group, you may see a message saying you’re one word away from the right group, but you still need to figure out which word to swap.

If you make four mistakes, the game is over. Let’s make sure that this doesn’t happen with the help of some tips, and if you really find it difficult, even with today’s ones Connections Answer. Like with Wordle and other similar games, it’s easy to share results with your friends on social media and group chats.

If you have one NYT You can access this with an All Access or Games subscription Connections Archive. This includes every previous game from Connectionsso you can go back and play any songs you missed.

Aside from the first 60 or so games, you should be able to find my clues for each grid via Google if you need to! Simply click here and enter the date of the game for which you need hints or answers to the search query.

What are today’s connection solutions?

Spoiler alert! Don’t scroll any further down the page until you’re ready to find out today Connections Answer.

This is your final warning!

Today Connections Answers are…

  • Yellow group – does not work reliably (BUGGY, ERRATIC, GLITCHY, SPOTTY)
  • Green Group – Car parts (bumper, grille, mirror, rim)
  • Blue group – what a sitter could sit (BABY, HOUSE, PET, PLANT)
  • Lila Group – ____ Band (BOY, RUBBER, TRIBUTE, WEDDING)

My winning streak is over after five days. But hey, if that were the case, at least I’d be pretty Danger. This is what happened to me:

I was overconfident when I guessed RUBBER, BUMPER, GRILLE and RIM before realizing that the first of these didn’t really belong and I was way out of a group. I ripped that up, threw it in the SPIEGEL and had the greens. I had no problem with the yellow tones.

HOUSE, BABY, PET, and WEDDING seemed like a decent group of life milestones, so I guessed the other four words and thought they were the shades of purple. But no, I was gone again.

PLANT and PET seemed to be the two best words to swap. But once again I was one away from it.

At this point I was exhausted. I was at a loss and didn’t think a TRIBUTE was necessarily a life milestone, but I tried anyway. And that was the end of my series.

I’m upset about this loss because the very first thing that came to mind when I saw RUBBER in the top left was “Band.” I should have listened to my gut feeling. Or at least remembered it later in the game. So silly.

PS After Chappell Roan, Flowerovlove is my absolute favorite music discovery of the year. I seriously can’t get enough of their catchy bedroom pop.

I’ve been thinking about buying a bass guitar for a while, and maybe I’ll actually do that after the holidays just so I can learn the funky bass line to “wipe you out.” Although I recommended two Flowerovlove songs a few weeks ago, here are a few more:
