Ohio State AD Ross Bjork is “absolutely” confident Ryan Day will return as head coach next season

Bjork is in his first year as OSU’s AD after a five-year stint at Texas A&M. During Thursday’s interview, he spoke about his connection to Day and the confidence he has in the 45-year-old coach’s approach to the program.

“Coach Day and I just got along so well. I was really very impressed. Every time I spoke to him I learned something. He is innovative, he recruits at the highest level. Bjork then added that some of Ohio State’s problems may require turning inward.

“If you focus on the end result and don’t follow the process through completely every time, you will lose. The mindset will lose because you are only fixated on one thing. And so what we have to do is this. “The whole championship or bust mentality is what you want to have as a goal, but it has to be about the process,” Björk said. “I think we may need to change some of the conversations a little bit. I think we might need to do things a little differently.”

Despite the loss to Michigan (and an earlier loss to No. 1 Oregon), Ohio State easily made it into the expanded CFP group as a No. 8 seed. The Buckeyes will be No. 1 on December 21st. 9 Tennessee received.
