There was no shortage of Buckeye fans on campus Saturday night, most of them confident and hopeful.

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A historic night at Ohio Stadium attracted countless Buckeye fans and many Volunteers fans who had no problem traveling to Columbus for the game.

The playoff game filled several bars in Columbus on Saturday night.

Campus bar Threes Above High stayed open an extra week just for the big game.

“It’s like getting an early Christmas present. Amazing, better than we imagined,” said Scott Ellsworth, owner of the bar. “We had to get an additional delivery and increase our inventory. It was all crazy, but it was fun. Normally we’re closed, but now we’re open and we have all these Buckeyes and some Vols fans, it’s great.”

“I’m excited. This is historic, we’re ready to grumble. “We’ve been wanting a game in the ‘Shoe since we got here,” said one Ohio State University fan.

“It’s electric, absolutely electric. Nothing like it,” said another fan.

“I couldn’t feel better, there’s no other team I can cheer for. It’s great, Ohio against the world,” said one excited Buckeye fan.

One thing many Buckeye fans have is pride.

“Being a Buckeye fan is the best thing in the world. OSU is the best school in the country, we are so proud to be Buckeyes,” one fan said.

“Ohio wins it all,” said another fan.

But in the scarlet and gray crowd, one couldn’t help but notice a lot of orange.

“It’s persistence. “We’ve had some tough years in the past, this is our first year of promise,” said one Tennessee fan.

“The first year I didn’t think we would make the 12-team playoffs, but it was a good year. We’ve had a solid year, I think it’s a great game tonight, I really do,” said another Vols fan.

Regardless of the outcome of the game, Buckeye fans said the first playoff game at Ohio Stadium will be a game they will always remember.
