Ohio State vs. Oregon result, live updates: College Football Playoff quarterfinals in the Rose Bowl

We’re ringing in 2025 with two College Football Playoff games.

Penn State started its quarterfinals with a 31-14 win over Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl on Tuesday. Texas joined PSU in the semifinals with a dramatic double-overtime win over Arizona State in the Peach Bowl on Wednesday afternoon. Who will join them from the Rose Bowl?

The final game of the quarterfinals – the Sugar Bowl showdown between Georgia and Notre Dame – was postponed until Thursday after a terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in New Orleans in the early hours of Jan. 1 left at least 10 people dead and dozens more dead were injured.

    The downfield passing game has worked like a charm for the Buckeyes so far. At the end of the first quarter they find themselves back in the Oregon 30.

    The deep passing game has opened up so far in the College Football Playoff, as the Buckeyes hold an early two-point lead over Oregon.

    Ohio State opened the season as the favorite to win the national title due to a wealth of talent assembled in Columbus during the offseason. But some uneven offensive performances during the regular season had some – including you – questioning whether this team was capable of winning it all. So far, Ohio State looks fantastic. But it’s still very, very early in the Rose Bowl.
