Open thread about the second half of the Buffalo Bills at the Los Angeles Rams

The Buffalo Bills trail the Los Angeles Rams 24-14 at halftime and are very lucky that the difference is only 10 points. Things didn’t go well in the first 30 minutes, largely due to the defense’s inability to contain the run, matching the physicality of wide receiver Puka Nacua and leaving the field.

The most glaring flaw was a complete breakdown of Buffalo’s punt unit, which allowed the Rams to score a game-winning return touchdown for the first time in 108 games.

Adversity is nothing new for quarterback Josh Allen, but a now-healthy L.A. team is putting everything together to upset most aspects of the Bills today. Buffalo has nine first downs, while the Rams have nine first downs from a run alone. The Bills’ red zone defense proved porous at best this afternoon, resulting in a completely lopsided time of possession in favor of the Rams – 19:55 to 10:05 for Buffalo.

To make matters worse, the Bills only managed six games in Rams territory. In contrast, LA managed to complete 21 plays in Buffalo’s half of the field. Just look at the teams’ running games: the Bills gained 15 yards on six carries (two by Allen) and the Rams gained 94 yards on 24 carries.

There’s a lot to clean up, and defensive coordinator Bobby Babich will need to make adjustments at halftime if the team wants to win in Week 14. The 24 points given up are the most Buffalo has conceded in the first half this season.

The Bills may need a classic performance from Josh Allen to prevail against a Rams team desperate to put their early season woes behind them. Through two quarters, Allen is 10 of 16 for 151 yards and a touchdown; Adding two runs for one yard and another score.

Here’s your open thread for the rest of Bills at Rams. As always, be kind to one another and in all things… Go Bills!
