ChatGPT stopped working for many users on Thursday afternoon, and OpenAI said some of its AI app was experiencing glitches.

“ChatGPT, the API and Sora are currently experiencing high error rates. The issue is caused by an upstream provider and we are currently monitoring it,” the artificial intelligence company posted in an update on its status page after the technical glitches surfaced at around 1:30 a.m. Easter.

“We continue to work on a resolution to this issue,” the company posted at 3:06 p.m. Eastern Time and then again an hour later.

According to Downdetector, an online platform that provides users with real-time information about the status of various websites and services, more than 15,000 incidents were reported by OpenAI users as of Thursday afternoon, with most of the issues related to ChatGPT.
