Oregon football signee Dallas Wilson is requesting release from the Ducks and plans to sign with Florida

The Oregon Ducks are expected to lose one of their top additions from the 2025 recruiting class.

In a rare move, five-star wide receiver Dallas Wilson is requesting release from his financial aid documents with Oregon Football and intends to sign with Florida instead. Wilson signed with the Ducks early on National Signing Day after being heavily pursued by the Gators and is now looking to part ways with Oregon and stay in his home state.

Verbal commits regularly change their minds in the high school football recruiting carousel, but for a player to change his mind after signing on the dotted line is unusual. Oregon has until Thursday to respond to Wilson’s release request, and multiple reports from recruiting insiders indicate the Ducks are likely to grant the request.

Wilson – from Tampa, Florida – is the No. 4 wide receiver and No. 20 player overall in the country, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He had been verbally committed to the Ducks since January 2023, and his eventual signing was a surprise to some in the recruiting space given long-standing interest from in-state schools like Florida and Miami.

Wilson is the third-highest rated player in Oregon’s 2025 class, behind five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore (Texas) and five-star cornerback Na’eem Offord (Alabama). A total of 21 players signed with the 2025 class earlier this month Ducks signed, making Oregon the No. 2 overall recruiting class according to 247Sports.
