“Oregon makes up for 5-star Ohio State CB Na’eem Offord”.

Oregon completed the acquisition of five-star Ohio State University cornerback Na’eem Offord on Wednesday afternoon, securing an impressive signing of the nation’s best defensive back in the first phase of the contract.

Offord, No. 4 in the ESPN 300, was the highest-rated prospect in the Buckeyes’ 2025 class as of Feb. 4. But the defensive back from Birmingham, Ala., spent the fall flirting with potential moves to Oregon and Auburn well into the early signing period, and he passed his pledge to the Ducks on Wednesday in a ceremony at AH Parker High School in Alabama .

Offord is now the second-ranked member of Oregon’s 2025 class, trailing only five-star wide receiver Darkorien Moore (No. 3 in the ESPN 300), who signed with the Ducks on Wednesday morning, and follows Cal quarterback- Flip Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele (No. 18 pocket passer) as an addition to the program’s second day of signings.

Offord visited Oregon at the start of the regular season and returned to Ohio State in Week 14. But Offord visited no school more frequently than Auburn during his recruitment – most recently on Nov. 23 – and the Tigers appeared to be entering the early signing period as the most likely transfer destination for the 6-foot-2 defensive back prior to Offord’s commitment on Wednesday.

With his pledge, Offord leads an Oregon defensive class that now includes commitments from five ESPN 300 defensive backs, along with four-star safety Trey McNutt (No. 40 in the ESPN 300), cornerback Dorian Brew (No. 53) and Linebacker Nasir Wyatt (No. 88) and Gavin Nix (No. 209), who transferred to the Ducks’ class from Miami on Tuesday. Four-star athlete Brandon Finney (No. 34 in the ESPN 300) is also expected to play cornerback at Oregon.
