Oscar-nominated gay actor Colman Domingo is in talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) – and we can’t wait to see it.

As Marvel became more gay over the years, queer representation in the comic book universe on screen soared Agatha all the time – his “gayest project yet”.

And thankfully, it looks like this trend will continue as more queer talent is brought into the franchise, as well as additional queer characters.

The latest of these queer powerhouses is expected to be Rustin The lead actor is Colman Domingo, who was nominated for an Oscar for the biopic about the civil rights activist co-written by Dustin Lance Black.

Speaking to Screen Geek, our gay star Domingo confirmed that he is “in discussions” with Marvel about an undisclosed role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I had a meeting with Marvel, yes,” he revealed to the publication. “But it wasn’t about anything specifically. They literally sat down and said, ‘What do you want to do?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know.'” What do you have for me?'”

He continued: “So of course we have an engagement. Who doesn’t want to be part of the MCU? I just don’t want it to be right.

“And something that was created for me and where I feel like I can give something of myself. So we’ll find out what this is. I don’t know what it is yet, but I’m patient.”

There’s been no further word on what role Domingo might play, but Marvel has been preparing to introduce the X-Men to the MCU for some time, starting this year Deadpool and Wolverine. Could he be the new Professor X? Or even the long-rumored Scarlet Witch villain Mephisto?

Domingo is already involved in a Marvel project, with a speaking role in the animated film Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man as villain Norman Osborn – but the series, which is scheduled to appear on Disney Plus in 2025 – is not part of the MCU.

Agatha all the time introduced Joe Locke as a super-powered Wiccan queen, as well as ex-lovers Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) and Rio Vidal/Death (Aubrey Plaza).

The MCU’s queer representation has historically been, as Locke put it, “behind the times.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) featured a fleeting kiss between two female Dora Milaje warriors, one played by Michaela Coel, which was banned from release in some territories.

Thor: RagnarokValkyrie is “canonically bisexual,” but a kissing scene was cut from the 2017 film.

Fans were treated to a fully fleshed out gay superhero Eternal (2021) character Phastos, who was played by Bryan Tyree Henry and had a husband and children – but plans for a sequel have since been scrapped.
