Oumar Ballo filled the stat sheet Friday night with 14 points, 18 rebounds and six assists as Indiana pulled away to a 76-57 non-conference win over Miami (Ohio) in the final 10 minutes in Bloomington, Indiana.

Malik Reneau led a balanced attack with 19 points for the Hoosiers (7-2). Myles Rice added 17 and missed just one of seven shots from the floor, and Trey Galloway scored 13 points. Indiana prevailed despite top scorer Mackenzie Mgbako scoring a season-low four points in 24 minutes.

Luke Skaljac scored 14 points for the RedHawks (5-3) and Eian Elmer added 11 despite making just 4 of 13 shots. Leading scorer Peter Suder hit just two of ten shots and finished the game with nine points, eight below his average. Suder reached the highest point total of his career in a win over Air Force on Monday night.

Miami trailed just 55-50 with 10:09 left after Skaljac hit a three-pointer. The Hoosiers then went on a 12-0 run and held the RedHawks scoreless for 6:19. Luke Goode’s three-point play made it 67-50 at 5:11.

Indiana made 53.8 percent of its field goal attempts and had a record of 46-98. Miami shot just 30.8 percent from the floor.

Looking for its third straight win since losing in a row at Battle 4 Atlantis last week, Indiana came out of the gate quickly, grabbing the first eight points and taking a 10-point lead with a 3-pointer less than five minutes later. Points lead Galloway.

The Hoosiers held Miami in check for most of the remainder of the half, increasing the lead to 12 twice as they made 58.3 percent of their shots. Galloway’s assist for Ballo made it 33:21 5:15 minutes before the break.

However, as the half progressed, the RedHawks fought their way back into the game. They hit three 3-pointers with 4:13 left in the finale and rattled off seven straight points to get within two points before Reneau made a foul shot with less than a second left to give Indiana a 39-36 lead gave me a break.
