Overshown’s pick-6 boosts Cowboys in Thanksgiving win over Giants – Orange County Register

ARLINGTON, Texas – DeMarvion Overshown returned an interception 23 yards for a touchdown, Rico Dowdle ran for a score in his first 100-yard game of his career and the Dallas Cowboys held on for a 27-20 victory over New York on Thanksgiving Day Giants.

Cooper Rush threw a touchdown pass and Dowdle finished with 112 yards in Thursday’s game, ending a six-game home losing streak for the Cowboys (5-7) that dates back to a wild-card loss to Green Bay last season.

Drew Lock, starting in place of the injured Tommy DeVito a week after the benching and subsequent firing of Daniel Jones, lost a fumble after Overshown’s pick-6, marking the Giants’ seventh straight loss (2-10).

Lock ran for 57 yards and a touchdown late in the game to prevent New York’s eighth straight loss to its NFC East rival.

The Giants had their first lead since Week 5 before Overshown’s dynamic play put Dallas back in front for good in the second quarter. The Cowboys led by just 2 minutes and 15 seconds during their six-game sweep at AT&T Stadium.

Leading 7-6, Lock tried to throw a screen pass to Devin Singletary after the running back was overwhelmed trying to block Overshown. The second-year linebacker redirected the pass into the air toward the end zone, used his speed to knock it off and scored untouched.

Overshown also recovered Lock’s fumble on the first possession of the second half and set up Rush’s 2-yard touchdown pass to Brandin Cooks, giving Dallas its second straight win after a five-game losing streak.

Rush, now 2-2 this season with Dak Prescott out this year with a torn hamstring, threw the game-winning pass to Cooks after the quarterback’s apparent fumble into the end zone was overturned on review.
