Packers at Eagles: How to watch, odds, expert tips with Philadelphia as the home favorite

The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles opened their seasons against each other in Week 1 at a neutral site, and now one of them’s season will come to an end against the other. The Eagles, the No. 2 seed in the NFC, have won 12 of their last 13 games and are more than just a home field goal favorite.

Here’s how to watch Packers at Eagles

What is important here is the health and status of both teams’ starting quarterbacks, as they have struggled with injury problems recently.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has not played since the first quarter of Philly’s Week 16 game against the Washington Commanders and has been in the concussion protocol since then. He is active for Sunday’s game, but after missing more than two and a half weeks, there are concerns about rust and returning to game speed.

On the Packers’ side, quarterback Jordan Love was forced to retire after injuring his elbow in the team’s Week 18 game against the Chicago Bears. His removal appeared to be more of a precautionary measure than anything else, and he is active for Sunday. But wide receiver Christian Watson, who was also injured in Week 18, is out for the season, depriving Love of one of his most important targets in the passing game.

Before their injuries, both quarterbacks were playing at an exceptionally high level. In his last seven games, Love has scored nine touchdowns with zero interceptions. In his last 12 games, Hurts has thrown 15 touchdowns with just one interception.

The injury concerns could be counteracted by the Packers and Eagles’ rushing attacks, which are among the best in the league: top 5 in rushing yards per game and top 6 in yards per carry. Both teams significantly expanded their running games in the offseason. The Packers signed Josh Jacobs, who finished sixth in the league in rushing, while the Eagles signed Saquon Barkley, who eclipsed the 2,000-yard mark and broke Eric Dickerson’s single-season rushing record.

Overall, the Eagles were 11-6 against the team this season, but were just 4-4 against the team at home. Green Bay was 4-3 away from home and 9-8 overall.

The over/under for Sunday is 44.5 points. Only seven of the Eagles’ 17 games this season have reached the championship, including two of their eight home games. The Packers have reached the over in eight of their 17 games.
