Packers fans send the team to Austin Straubel before the Wild Card game in Philadelphia

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – A crowd of Packers fans streamed through Austin Straubel International Airport on Saturday, giving their team one last happy farewell before heading to Philadelphia to play in an NFC Wild Card game against the Eagles to compete.

Fans waited in anticipation, holding signs, helmets and footballs and waiting just a moment with their favorite Packers players.

“We are very excited. We look forward to seeing everyone here. Get as many autographs as you can and just try everything,” said Brylee Ayotte of Green Bay.

Players like Malik Willis, Lukas Van Ness and others stopped to sign autographs and take a few photos with the excited fans.

This was the first time Nick Bawiec did this and he got a lot of signatures. He says he’s even more excited now as he hopes the Packers can beat the Eagles like they did against the Dallas Cowboys last season.

“Remember, last year we were seven seeds, and this year we are seven seeds. We went to Dallas and beat Dallas. So hopefully we go to Philly, beat Philly and play Detroit next,” Nick said.

But it’s not the first time Brylee and Parker Ayotte have helped send the team off the field. Every time they do it, it means a lot to be so up close and personal.

Parker says this is also special because you don’t know if you’ll have the opportunity to see one of your favorite players again. “Some of these players could be in their last year. You never know, it might be the only time you get an autograph. So, it’s really nice,” Parker said.

“Man, it’s just a really cool experience. You can only do that a few times in your life. You only get these autographs for the duration of the game. So it’s a really cool experience and I’m really enjoying it,” Brylee said.

The Packers landed safely in Philadelphia around 3 p.m. and are now looking forward to Sunday afternoon’s Wild Card game against the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field.
