Packers RB Josh Jacobs’ three TDs weren’t enough in the loss to the Lions

I can’t suppress Tucker: Kraft set the tone for the Packers in the third quarter, first with his touchdown and then with his 21-yard reception.

The latter came after the Lions decided to go for it on fourth-and-1 after their own 31-point score. As Green Bay’s offense gained the upper hand deep in Detroit territory, quarterback Jordan Love found a wide-open power underneath.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound tight end was hit by a barrage of fire from Lions defenders, who sent him to the ground after Kraft went vertical. He didn’t stay down long, however, as Kraft performed a tip-up to his feet at the end of the quarter.

Jacobs scored two games later.

“Lift my ass up. No matter how hard you get hit, it’s how quickly you get up that matters,” Kraft said of his mindset. “You can talk anything you want. They can hit me as hard as they want, but they won’t stop me from getting up. That’s what I want the defense to know. They can hit me as hard as they want.” they (expletive) want; I’m going to give juice, especially after I make a play (for a) first down.

Watson addresses fumble, OPI: The Packers’ second-year receiver finished the game with 114 yards on just four catches (28.5 yards per reception), but was thinking more about what might have happened in the immediate aftermath of Thursday’s loss.

Watson started the second quarter with a 20-yard catch-and-run, but lost the football when Lions cornerback Carlton Davis III ejected from behind. Detroit converted the winning score on a 43-yard field goal from Jake Bates, extending its lead to 10-0 at that point.

“I just try to do too much. I have to protect the ball,” Watson said. “The ball is the most important thing. When I came back the ball was too loose. I just have to protect the ball.”

Watson was also involved in a strange sequence during Green Bay’s final offensive possession when referee John Hussey and his team called him for offensive pass interference in the Detroit red zone after Watson collided with Lions safety Kerby Joseph.

Joseph seemed to stop at an angle in front of Watson and quickly fell onto the grass. The play continued for a few more seconds, with Love finding Jacobs for a touchdown, which was then waved off.

“I just have to try to find a way to avoid him,” Watson said. “It’s not even a game of pick. I’m not trying to pick for anyone. I haven’t looked in and tried to control something like that because I’m at the end of the game. He turned around, looked at me, I saw myself and ran straight towards me. I just have to find a way to avoid it.
