Paige DeSorbo says Bravo didn’t make her wait to announce her split from Craig

Paige DeSorbo refutes assumptions that Bravo made her wait before confirming their split Craig Conover.

During the Monday, December 30th episode of her and Hannah BernerDeSorbo, 32, opened up about the timing of her and Conover’s decision to separate on The Giggly Squad podcast.

“It’s a very sad thing. And just to say that – not that I even need to say it – but in terms of people saying, “Oh, Paige was told to wait until Southern charm came out or Garden house came out.’ “Nobody can tell me what to do,” DeSorbo noted. “The network has power, but they don’t have that much power.”

DeSorbo denied speculation that Bravo was in any way involved in her announcement, adding, “That’s not real. Rumors that we broke up months ago were also untrue.”

The Garden house Star recalled various claims made over the course of her relationship with Conover, 35, which began in 2021.

“Our first rumor was that we had a PR relationship. “So we spent our entire relationship with these rumors and never gave them a second thought,” DeSorbo admitted. “But I didn’t want (my listeners) to think I was leaving them out or anything. Not at all.”

DeSorbo referenced speculation from earlier this year about her status with Conover, saying, “Whenever those rumors came up, we were still together.” When we broke up, of course, I didn’t check social media or the podcast. We both gave each other some time to deal with this alone and privately with our family and friends.”

After three years of dating, DeSorbo announced Monday that she and Conover “have decided to no longer be together.”

“I love him, I think he loves me. I think we’ll stay friends. Nobody did anything. “It wasn’t a bad thing,” she explained. “I think we’ve both just been very mature and said what we want and what we don’t want, and I think being able to express in real time how you feel and what you want for the future is extremely powerful wishes. ”

DeSorbo said she hopes to maintain a friendship with Conover, emphasizing that “he is one of the best people” she has ever met.

“I have so much love and respect for Craig. … I will remain the biggest fan for him and want the best for him, and he will truly get the best because he is the best,” she continued. “But still, I think it’s the right decision for both of us.”

Bravo fans have been cheering for DeSorbo and Conover since they filmed the first season of Winter house in 2021. The couple went on a casual date, which viewers saw in Season 6 of Garden housebefore making their relationship Instagram official later that year.

The two often defended the fact that they were in no rush for important moments in their unconventional relationship. “We actually love long distance,” she said exclusively Us weekly in October 2021. “I feel like we’re more present with each other when we’re together.”

Conover, meanwhile, pointed to other Bravo couples as examples of why he didn’t mind taking things slowly.

“Honestly, there are a lot of couples on Bravo and I’m not trying to throw shade. But there are a lot of couples on Bravo that we end up not wanting to like,” he said during an appearance on Watch what happens live with Andy Cohen in September 2023. “We want it to work. Like sustainable growth. Two years is still not that long. But we’re doing really well.”

Conover even denied the suggestion that he and DeSorbo broke up earlier this month, which is telling E! News“I don’t know where that comes from because we’re together like every week. So no, Paige and I are not broken up. We’re still together. If I had given you a reason why this rumor started, I would probably have to defend it. But I don’t think me and Paige did anything.”

The reality star also denied using the rumors as a ploy to increase the ratings of their respective shows.

“Why should we do that?!” he added. “Remember back in high school when people gossiped? I became most dramatic in high school. I’m a big gossip, but just don’t take everything so seriously.”
