Paris Hilton is “heartbroken” after losing her Malibu home in wildfires

Paris Hilton is “heartbroken beyond words” after learning her Malibu home was destroyed by the deadly Los Angeles wildfires.

The media personality and businesswoman shared an emotional post on Instagram on Wednesday afternoon: “Sitting with my family, watching the news and watching on live television our house in Malibu burning to the ground is something no one ever experiences should.” . We created so many precious memories in this house. This is where Phoenix took its first steps and we dreamed of creating unforgettable memories for a lifetime with London.”

Despite the devastation, Hilton also reflected on the positive memories she had of the house with her husband, Carter Reum, and their two young children, Phoenix and London.

“Although the loss is overwhelming, I hold on to the gratitude that my family is safe,” she wrote. “My heart and prayers go out to every family affected by these fires. To all the people who have lost their homes, their memories and their beloved pets. My sorrow goes out to those who are still in danger or grieving greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable. To know that so many are waking up today without the place they called home is truly heartbreaking.”

Hilton further shared that her 11:11 Media Impact team is already working to determine how best to support impacted communities. She also thanked the first responders who worked nonstop to bring the fire under control.

“To the brave firefighters and first responders who are risking their lives to keep us safe – you are true heroes,” she continued. “I am so grateful for your courage, your commitment and the incredible sacrifices you are making to save lives and fight this unimaginable fight. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Her long post ended with the words: “Please stay safe everyone and follow evacuation instructions.” Let’s protect each other and hold on to hope that these fires will soon be contained. I am sending you all so much love and strength. We’re in this together, LA. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight. You never know when everything could change.”

Hilton was among those evacuating areas of LA as deadly wildfires broke out across the county. Other Hollywood stars have also shared on social media that they tragically lost their homes in the wildfires, including Mandy Moore, Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag, James Woods, Diane Warren, Cameron Mathison and Ricki Lake, among others.

The fire started in Pacific Palisades on Tuesday before spreading to parts of Malibu and Santa Monica overnight. Early Wednesday, the Los Angeles Fire Department said the Palisades fire was zero percent contained. Three other active wildfires in the LA area – the Eaton, Hurst and Woodley fires – are also at zero percent containment.
