Pastrnak scores late in OT, Bruins defeat Flames

Pastrnak ran into the zone and shot past Dustin Wolf’s blocker for the win.

Elias Lindholm had a goal and an assist, and Morgan Geekie and Marc McLaughlin scored for the Bruins (17-13-3), who have won six of eight games. Jeremy Swayman made 20 saves.

Nazem Kadri, Matt Coronato and Ryan Lomberg scored and Dustin Wolf made 31 saves for the Flames (15-11-6), who have lost four of six.

Boston scored two goals in less than three minutes in the third period to erase a two-goal deficit.

Geekie made it 3-2 at 4:14 when he converted a rebound chance in the slot, and McLaughlin scored a rebound through Wolf’s outstretched left block at 6:51 to make it 3-3.

Calgary scored two goals in a 27-second span early in the second period to take a 2-0 lead.

Coronato shot from the hashmarks off Swayman’s blocker after receiving a center feed from Blake Coleman for a 1-0 lead 54 seconds into the game, and Kadri made it 2-0 at 1:21 when he received a return pass from Jonathan Huberdeau accepted and shot through a Pull the top corner of the screen with the glove side away from the high slot.

The Bruins cut it to 2-1 at 6:31 when Lindholm fired a shot under Wolf’s arm after firing into the net on a partial breakaway, scoring his first goal in 12 games and second in 30 games.

Lindholm, who signed a seven-year contract with Boston on July 1, scored 357 points (148 goals, 209 assists) in 418 games over six seasons with the Flames from 2018 to 2024. He played his first game in Calgary after being traded to the Vancouver Canucks on January 31.

Lomberg gave the Flames a 3-1 lead with 17:19 to play. Connor Zary’s wrist shot was partially blocked and Lomberg tapped a bouncing puck to Swayman’s right for his first goal with Calgary in 30 games this season.
