Patrick Mahomes talks about the Texans Chiefs’ availability after a recent injury

The Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious once again as they are now 13-1 on the season – their only loss coming against the Detroit Lions. However, towards the end of the game, Patrick Mahomes was sidelined after taking a hard hit and backup quarterback Carson Wentz came into the game in his place.

This is certainly something to keep an eye on for the Houston Texans as they have a matchup against the Chiefs next weekend. Even though they’re locked out of the AFC South, they still want a big win over the Chiefs to gain momentum heading into the playoffs at the end of the season.

The Texans also need to prove they can beat a team like the Chiefs, as they will have to face them or a similarly contended team on their way to the Super Bowl.

However, will Mahomes be able to play? He spoke about his availability on Sunday after his injury.

“It’s hard to say right now,” Mahomes said. “You still get the adrenaline rush, and you usually don’t get a good feel for it until the next day.” I feel like I could have finished the game under different circumstances, but I thought the smart decision was to bring in Carson Wentz.

“…You just do what you have to do to get back, and I think that’s the most important thing. And now we’re just going to go back to the rehab part, the treatment part, and try to get ready for a short week against a good football team.

The Texans will prepare for Mahomes to be on the field, and the duo of Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter – who were phenomenal in a win over the Miami Dolphins – will be crucial in putting pressure on the backfield no matter who is there is under the middle.
