Paul Bernard obituary – The Herald-Mail

Paul Eugene Bernard, 93, of Hagerstown, Maryland, was carried into the loving arms of Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior, on Sunday morning, December 1, 2024, in Bernville, Pennsylvania.

He was born August 24, 1931 in Swanton, Md., the son of the late Lambert Riley and Hazel Ellen (Howell) Bernard.

Paul was a U.S. Air Force veteran; and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 35 years of service.

He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers, Branch 443, North American Rod and Gun, Funkstown American Legion, Antietam Chapter 312 Veterans Association of the Korean War and a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Violet Nettie N. (Wilson) Bernard; a sister and a brother.

Paul is survived by two devoted daughters, Delores Beideman and Susan McMullen; five granddaughters, one grandson, one great-grandchild, one great-granddaughter, three brothers, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, MD. Burial will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
