Tragic Paul Danan died aged just 46, having previously struggled to breathe and had to be hospitalized for e-cigarette addiction.

Now his latest social media update has come to light, in which he shared that he was excitedly auditioning for a Shakespeare role. He revealed the news in a video post last week, telling fans: “Auditioning for A Twelfth Night to play Orsino.”

“It has been a long time since I came even remotely close to the master, our pioneer Sir William Shakespeare. You forget what a genius he really was and remember how beautiful and exhilarating it is when you delve into his work,” the former Hollyoaks and Love Island star exclaimed.

“It’s an incredible experience! I sometimes forget how much I need to be woken up…” A few lines were recited to fans that showed how serious he was about continuing to succeed in the acting world until his death.

This was despite the fact that he suffered from health problems due to his e-cigarette habit. He had his celebrity friends right behind him, and Calum Best was among those who praised his concert.

Paul previously played Sol in Channel 4 drama Hollyoaks before also appearing in Love Island and Celebrity Big Brother, and his cheeky, cheerful demeanor won many hearts.

But although he completed professional acting training at the renowned Italia Conti Theater School, at some point acting and television work dried up completely.

What’s heartbreaking is that the man who once admitted he “hates rejection” was once forced to work in a phone shop repairing broken screens.

Paul told Mail Online about the career slump: “I worked at a place called Smashed It where if you drop your iPhone and the screen breaks we fix it for you.”

His goal was to “just make a little money on the side,” even though he was once seen by millions in one of the most popular soaps on television.

Although he also suffered from addiction and was in rehab for a time, it was believed that he was fully focused on acting at the time of his tragic death.

On Thursday morning, his PR agency confirmed the sad news, writing in a statement: “It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic news of the death of Paul Danan at the age of just 46.

“Known for his television presence, extraordinary talent and unwavering kindness, Paul was a lighthouse to so many.

“His untimely passing will leave irreplaceable gaps in the lives of all who knew him.”
