1 Winning six games against SEC opponents for Arizona State, which defeated Mississippi State 30-23 on Sept. 7. Texas defeated Mississippi State 35-13 on September 28th. Wednesday’s game will be the Sun Devils’ first bowl meeting with an SEC opponent.

1 TD needed by Arizona State RB Cam Skattebo to set a school single-season record. With 19 rushing TDs and three receiving TDs, Skattebo is tied for school records with Wilford White, who scored 22 TDs in 1950.

5 Texas players have won the Outland Trophy and four have won the Lombardi Award, but only one has won both – current OT Kelvin Banks Jr., who took home both awards for the 2024 season.

5 It’s been years since Arizona State won a bowl. The Sun Devils defeated Florida State 20-14 in the Sun Bowl on December 31, 2019. Arizona State lost its only bowl appearance since then – a 20-13 setback to Wisconsin in the Las Vegas Bowl on December 30, 2021. Arizona State has a bowl record of 15-17-1.

9 It will be days until the winner of the Peach Bowl plays again. Wednesday’s winner will face the Rose Bowl winner between Ohio State and Oregon in a CFP semifinal game on Jan. 10 in the Cotton Bowl.

11 Arizona State players have 16 1,000-yard receiving seasons, including WR Jordyn Tyson in 2024. Tyson has 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.

23 Wins, 16 losses and one tie for SEC teams in the Peach Bowl after Ole Miss beat Penn State 38-25 in last season’s game. SEC teams have won their last five Peach Bowl appearances. The Big 12 has a 1-1 record in the Peach Bowl and played an SEC opponent in both appearances. TCU defeated Ole Miss 42-3 on December 31, 2014 and LSU defeated Oklahoma 63-28 on December 28, 2019.

25 Consecutive games with a TD pass from Texas QB Quinn Ewers, which represents the longest streak in the country and the second longest in school history, behind a 29-game streak by Colt McCoy in the 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons.

27 RB Quintrevion Wisner needs rushing yards to become the 15th Texas player to reach 1,000 yards in a season. The previous 14 players to reach this milestone for the Longhorns had 26 1,000-yard seasons. Wisner has 973 yards and five touchdowns on 191 rushing attempts.

29 Texas has won the most takeaways in the country this season. The Longhorns recovered nine fumbles from their opponents and intercepted 20 passes. Arizona has eight turnovers this season – three fumbles and five interceptions. Only one team in the country loses the ball less.

29 It has been years since Texas played a non-conference game against a member of the Big 12 or one of its traditional conferences. In 1996, Texas moved into the Big Eight along with former Southwest Conference members Baylor, Texas A&M and Texas Tech, making it into the Big 12. Texas will play its first season as an SEC member in 2024. With that Texas is the current non-SEC member. The conference game against a Big Eight team was a 24-24 tie against Oklahoma on October 14, 1995. Arizona State is playing its first season as a member of the Big 12.

38 Years have passed since Arizona State won a game in January. The Sun Devils defeated Michigan 22-15 in the Rose Bowl on January 1, 1987. Wednesday’s game will be Arizona State’s third game in January since that win.

61 Bowl appearances for Texas when the Longhorns take the field on Wednesday, including a 38-24 victory over Clemson in a College Football Playoff first-round game on Dec. 21. Texas has a bowl record of 32-26-2.

75 Rushing yards need Arizona State RB Cam Skattebo to break the school single-season record of 1,642 yards set by Eno Benjamin in 2018. Skattebo has passed for 1,568 yards and 19 touchdowns on 263 carries this season.

146 Rushing yards for RB Jaydon Blue and 110 rushing yards for RB Quintrevion Wisner in Texas’ 38-24 victory over Clemson in a CFP first-round game on Dec. 21. Wisner has 973 rushing yards and Blue has 710 rushing yards for the Longhorns in 2024. Five players have rushed for more than 100 yards in a game against Arizona State this season, including in the Sun Devils game. Losses, with Texas Tech’s Tahj Brooks rushing for 117 yards on 27 carries in a 30-22 win on Sept. 21 and Cincinnati’s Corey Kiner gaining 102 yards on 22 carries in a 24-14 win on Oct. 19.
