Phoenix's Beal is out against Curry, Golden State

The Phoenix Suns (10-8) face the Golden State Warriors (12-6) on Saturday, airing on NBA TV and Arizona’s Family (Chapter 3 TV) at 7 p.m

This will be the Suns’ fifth six-game home game and the first of the four-game Pacific Division series against the Warriors.

Phoenix is led by two of its Big 3, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, but will not have Bradley Beal (managing a left calf injury). Starting center Jusuf Nurkic is also out for Phoenix. The Suns suffered a 127-117 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.

Golden State is led by Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins. The Warriors have lost their last three games.

Starting lineups

The Suns start guards Tyus Jones and Booker, Grayson Allen starts for the first time this season, Durant at the four and Mason Plumlee at center.

The Warriors start Curry and Brandin Podziemski in the backcourt, forwards Wiggins and Green and Trayce Jackson-Davis in the middle.

Kerr jokes about ASU’s win over Arizona

Warriors coach Steve Kerr joked about Arizona State beating his alma mater and rival Arizona 49-7 in the Territorial Cup on Saturday. Kerr began his pregame media release to show his loyalty to the Wildcats, which drew laughter.

“Before I start, if you have any questions about U of A or ASU, I want to remind everyone that we still have the lead in the standings at 51-46,” Kerr said.

Kerr played basketball at Arizona from 1983 to 1988 and was drafted by the Suns after graduating.
