Jill Biden unveiled her final White House Christmas decorations as first lady on Monday, themed “A Time of Peace and Light.”

“As we celebrate our final holidays here at the White House, we are guided by the values ​​we hold sacred: faith, family, service to our country, kindness to our neighbors, and the power of community and connection,” the president said and wrote the first lady in the 2024 White House Holiday Guide.

Former first lady Melania Trump is expected to oversee the White House holiday decorations again next holiday season during President-elect Donald Trump’s second term.

A starlight hanging above the entrance to the East Wing welcomes guests to the White House.

The entire display consists of 83 Christmas trees, 9,810 feet of ribbon, 28,125 ornaments and 165,075 Christmas lights.

Visitors are greeted by a horse-drawn sleigh in the East Garden Room.

The Gold Star Tree, which pays tribute to the fallen soldiers, also stands at the east entrance. A tree made of six gold stars represents the six branches of the military, and the gold star ornaments on the surrounding Christmas trees bear the names of fallen soldiers.

According to the 2024 White House Holiday Guide, the bells are intended to evoke “the peaceful sounds of the holiday season.”
