The Pokémon Go Holiday 2024 Part 1 event will take place from December 17th to 22nd, 2024 and is one of the traditional points in the game’s annual schedule.

With double capture XP and halved egg hatch distance, as well as the debut of Dedenne (Holiday Attire), Holiday Part 1 includes field research tasks, collection challenges, and free timed research. There should also be a paid timed research, but at the time of writing, players cannot find the ticket for it in the store, so it is inaccessible.

You can get the Holiday 2024 Part 1 Timed Research for free when you log into the game after the event begins on December 17, 2024 at 10 a.m. local time. Rewards will remain available until December 22, 2024 at 9:59 a.m. local time. You should therefore complete all tasks before this deadline.

After step 1, you have to make a decision: you can either help Spark or track down Sierra. The only differences between the two branches of the story are a reward (Alolan Vulpix vs. Shadow Vulpix) and the type of Pokémon you need to complete some tasks – the other rewards are identical.

You can obtain event-exclusive Field Research tasks by spinning PokéStops while Holiday Part 1 is running, which is until December 22, 2024, 9:59 a.m. local time. Once you have received a field research task, you can complete it and claim its rewards at any time – there is no time pressure.

Collection Challenges can only be processed and completed during the duration of an event. So you need to complete them before Holiday Part 1 ends on December 22, 2024 at 9:59 a.m. local time. To complete a Collection Challenge, you must catch, hatch, or evolve all of the Pokémon listed for that mission during the event.
