In a postgame press conference, OSU head coach Ryan Day addressed his players’ fight and demeanor, saying his team was too proud to stand idly by while Michigan marked territory.

“I don’t know all the details,” Day said, according to CBS Sports. “I know those guys wanted to plant a flag on our field and our guys weren’t going to let that happen. I’ll find out exactly what happened, but that’s our area of expertise.”

The coach added: “Of course we’re embarrassed that we lost the game, but there are some proud boys in this team who wouldn’t let that happen.”
