The No. 19 Iowa State Cyclones and the No. 16 Miami Hurricanes meet Saturday in the 2024 Pop-Tarts Bowl, a triumph of avant-garde branding that just happens to involve two nationally ranked, entertaining college football teams.

Iowa State (10-3) had hopes of a first-place finish in the College Football Playoff, but a crushing 45-19 loss to Arizona State in the Big 12 Championship Game closed that door. Still, there’s one more chance for the Cyclones — enjoying the first 10-win season in program history — to prove they’re closer to the top of the NCAA.

Miami (10-2) appeared to be on its way to a CFP spot of its own. However, the Hurricanes were eliminated from the competition with losses to Georgia Tech and Syracuse. However, Miami will be hoping for an offense led by Heisman Trophy finalist Cam Ward to pull off another statement win… and to get a bite from the three edible mascots that will be in attendance.
