Post Malone and Zach Top join forces for a stunning cover of Vince Gill’s “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away”

Post Malone and Zach Top don’t exactly have much in common, especially when it comes to their looks. Unless the latter is at least hiding a few tattoos somewhere. Zach Top has made a splash with the revival of traditional country music. Meanwhile, Post Malone became a country-pop star with his latest country album.

Sometimes opposites attract… although we wouldn’t necessarily call these two two Opposites. Top and Malone share the same passion for country music in slightly different forms and recently collaborated on a stellar performance of Vince Gill’s famous 1992 country hit “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away.”

Malone is no stranger to a solid cover of a classic country song, considering he has delivered renditions of songs by Hank Williams and others. Top is obviously as connected to the classics as anyone. He has covered John Michael Montgomery’s “Sold” and Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried” alongside Riley Green.

Zach Top and Post Malone stun the crowd with their cover of Vince Gill’s “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away.”

Yesterday, the two country stars decided to surprise the audience with a stellar team at the Wild Horses Festival in San Diego, California. With red solo cups in hand, the two sang their hearts out and sounded absolutely great incredible together. You can watch a fan clip of the performance below:

Outside of the live collaboration, neo-traditional trailblazer Top has even joked about the duo being considered “rising stars” in the world of country music and made a tepid joke about Beyoncé.

“Me and Post Malone are bringing country back…” Top said in a recent video clip. “Me, him and Beyoncé.”

It would honestly be great to hear more classic 90s country covers from these two. Malone even recently covered Top’s “I Never Lie” at Flora-Bama, so we wouldn’t be surprised if more collaborations are on the way.

So what did the two do separately? Malone fell F-1 trillion earlier this year and will tour mostly non-stop for the Big Ass Stadium Tour through 2025. Top also released his debut album, Cold beer and country musicEarly 2024. Top will also tour extensively until 2025.
