Predicted line-up for Manchester City vs Feyenoord: UEFA Champions League

Manchester City urgently needs a win and their next chance comes against Feyenoord in the Champions League.

For the first time in his coaching career, Pep Guardiola has to get his team back to winning ways after five defeats in a row. Manchester City lost games against Tottenham Hotspur, Bournemouth, Sporting CP and Brighton & Hove Albion and then suffered a 4-0 defeat to Spurs in their first Premier League game after the international break in November.

However, Guardiola’s side face a significant injury risk ahead of their Champions League clash with Feyenoord. Although Rodri, Oscar Bobb and Mateo Kovačić will miss Tuesday’s clash, Jack Grealish, Kevin De Bruyne and Matheus Nunes are available to feature at the Etihad. Rúben Dias and Jérémy Doku also returned to training but still have doubts about taking part in the game.

To avoid another defeat, City will need to show a result against Feyenoord, a team that is just one point less than the reigning English champions in the UCL league stage table.

This is what City’s team could look like against Brian Priske’s squad on Tuesday 26 November.

GK: Ederson—The Brazilian has conceded 10 goals in his last three games for City.

RB: Kyle Walker– Since Rico Lewis is needed in midfield, Walker will again be given the job on the right wing despite his recent unimpressive performances.

CB: Manuel Akanji– As Dias continues to recover from a calf injury, Akanji is the man tasked with helping City keep a clean sheet for the first time since October 26.

CB: Nathan Aké– Expect the Dutchman to return to the starting XI after Stones was substituted at half-time against Tottenham.

Moderator: Joško Gvardiol—The Croatian hasn’t been at his best during City’s recent losing streak, but on a good day he’s still one of Guardiola’s most reliable defenders.

DM: Matheus Nunes— With Kovačić and Rodri out, Guardiola needs some new faces in midfield, especially after Gündoğan played 90 minutes at the weekend. Nunes goes into the midweek game with fresh legs and three goals.

DM: Rico Lewis—Lewis failed to make an impact against Tottenham but should have more success against an injury-plagued Feyenoord side.

RW: Savinho—Savinho will be looking to bounce back from arguably one of his worst performances in a City shirt. The Brazilian has yet to score for his new club.

AM: Kevin De Bruyne– De Bruyne may not solve all of City’s problems, but his playmaking abilities will certainly open up more opportunities for Guardiola’s men, especially given the chemistry between the midfielder and Haaland.

LW: Jack Grealish– The England international returned from injury against Spurs and was expected to start Tuesday’s game. Despite gifting Tottenham a goal, Grealish is still a much-needed addition to City’s struggling attack.

ST: Erling Haaland—The striker has already scored 15 goals across all competitions this season, including three in the Champions League.
