Prediction, odds and tips for Indiana Pacers vs. Memphis Grizzlies

The Indiana Pacers have lacked consistency for much of this season so far, and their last game against Detroit proved that once again. They entered the game with a three-game winning streak, but lost 24-24 at home to a Pistons team with a negative record. Now they have the difficult task of holding off against a 13-7 Grizzlies team that is riding a five-game winning streak. Indiana didn’t have the best of times in this matchup, winning just once in six games, but also failing to cover the spread in all six of those games. Aaron Nesmith has been ruled out while Andrew Nembhard is questionable. Indiana has to pay attention to their defense here, they are the fifth-worst team in the NBA in terms of points allowed from deep.

Memphis has really excelled at defending the perimeter of late, limiting their last three opponents from downtown to just 26.5% shooting. That’s encouraging news heading into a game against a team that has had more than 13 three-pointers just once in six games. The Grizz have covered 10 of 12 games, making them one of the most popular bets in the NBA today. Ja Morant has played extremely well in the two games since his return, averaging 24.5 points and 9 assists per game while shooting over 53% from the field. It will be interesting to see if he can maintain these numbers against one of the NBA’s elite point guards, Tyrese Haliburton.

Indiana’s inconsistent form makes it really difficult to pick a team to cover here. So let’s tackle the bottom instead. The total score of 243.5 sounds a bit high here considering each team has scored that many points in just one of the last five games. I just can’t trust the Pacers’ offense after their poor shooting performance against Detroit.

Below 242.5 is available at the time of publication. Playable under this number.
