Predictions, odds and best NBA prop bets for the NBA Cup group game: Rockets vs. Kings

The Houston Rockets have won West Group A in the NBA Cup and are facing their fourth and final group game against the Sacramento Kings.

Sacramento is 0-3 in the NBA Cup and could fall to 0-4 against a Houston team that has yet to lose in West Group A.

Houston is coming off a big win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday and is off to a fast start to the 2024-25 season – a sign that it may be ahead of schedule when it comes to being a contender (Thunder from last Year). does it ring?).

Meanwhile, the Kings enter this season at 9-12 overall and have lost seven of their last 10 games despite adding DeMar DeRozan to their core team in the offseason.

The oddsmakers have this game a favorite, but can we trust the Kings against one of the best teams in the West in the first month of the season?

Here’s a breakdown of the odds, players to consider in the prop market, and my favorite bet for this NBA Cup matchup.

The best NBA prop bets on the Houston Rockets

To understand Houston Rockets guard Jalen Green’s season, all you have to do is look at his last three games. In his last three games he scored 9, 41 and 9 points. So there’s a lot of volatility tonight when it comes to this prop.

Still, I think Green should be able to put up 17.5 points against the Kings’ No. 17 defense. He has scored 18 or more points in 11 of 21 games this season and is averaging 18.9 points per game.

The best NBA prop bets for the Sacramento Kings

DeRozan has grabbed five or more rebounds in five of his last six games, so I’m happy to take the OVER for his 3.5 rebound average on Tuesday.

DeRozan comes into the game averaging 4.2 rebounds per game this season and has done so nine times in 16 games.

It’s really hard to justify the Rockets fading in this game as they rank 4th in the NBA in net rating and 2nd in defensive rating.

The Kings now sit just 15th in the NBA in net scoring and have been outscored by 29 points in their three NBA Cup games so far this season.

Houston has an NBA-best 15-6 against the field this season, while the Kings have an NBA-worst record at home at 7-13-1 against the field and 2-8-1 against the field.

Maybe this is a trap for the Rockets, but depending on their margin of victory, it could also make them the No. 1 seed in the NBA Cup West.

After beating OKC on Sunday, I think Houston is primed for another win on Tuesday night.
