The race for the wild NFC West is heating up and the “Thursday Night Football” matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams is a crucial milestone.

The 49ers (6-7) have been decimated by injuries in 2024, but entering Week 15 they are somehow still in the race for the division. While they’ve had to deal with the injuries on the roster, they’ve also had to deal with a little drama off the field: Wide receiver Deebo Samuel recently called for more touches on the ball, which could put the offense in a tight spot over the last four games There are some changes this season.

The Rams (7-6) have also dealt with a slew of injuries this season that have resulted in a subpar record, but their 44-42 win over the Bills in Week 14 could paint a rosier picture for the rest of the season Season. Update on Isaac Guerendo’s injury

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Isaac Guerendo plans to play against the Rams on Thursday night.

He left Sunday’s win with what head coach Kyle Shanahan called a possible ankle sprain. Guerendo didn’t seem too worried about his availability for “Thursday Night Football,” saying via NBC Sports Bay Area after the game that the team was just being cautious.

The 49ers are a better team when they have multiple ways to get Deebo Samuel the ball, especially when the offense is missing players like Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk. The wideout is the second player in NFL history to record more than 4,000 receiving yards and more than 1,000 rushing yards in his first five seasons.

Samuel should be a focal point of the 49ers’ offense as the team looks to defeat the Rams, climb out of last place in the NFC West and make a late-postseason surge. The 49ers seem to understand this after Samuel’s deleted social media post. — Tyler Dragon
