Ipswich coach Kieran McKenna speaks to Sky Sports:

“A special evening for the club, for the players and fans. The first Premier League home win at Portman Road in 22 years and to do it against Chelsea was fantastic.”

“For most fans who have been here for 22 years, every moment here is a milestone for them. Winning the home game is another special little milestone. But I think the time of year, the night game and the opponent make this a special evening and I want everyone to have a great time. But inside we are preparing for the next one. On Wednesday we get back to work and prepare for Sunday.

“It was everything we needed. We started well, pressed well on the front foot and had some nice moments with the ball. We took advantage of the good start with the goal and then defended well, with maximum intensity and organization. We handled it. “The pressure is good, you have to make good saves and have the moments you need to maintain the threat, and we did that really well throughout.

“We had a few VARs against us and when their goal was disallowed for offside, the crowd took a deep breath. That was a good feeling, but we had a lot of 1-0 results here to get the second goal.” was nice.

“Not much will change internally. The group works well and believes in what we do day in and day out. The halfway point of the season is over and we have been competitive in most of our games. It’s just a few small improvements we need to make to win more games. We are a humble group full of convictions and we will be back.

“Incredible year. Anyone associated with Ipswich can probably enjoy a glass of the sparkly stuff tomorrow night and reflect on some of the games and moments we’ve had over the last few years. I don’t want to go back too much but I think six players from the starting XI were in our League One team today, so that’s the journey this group has been on. When you have moments like this, you take a little break and enjoy it, but then you move on to the next thing.”
