Sports Mole previews Wednesday’s Premier League clash between Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

Two teams who scored four goals at the weekend meet in the Premier League on Wednesday at Goodison Park Everton host Wolverhampton Wanderers.

With two of the division’s most unhappy fanbases and managers under immense pressure, this is certainly a must-win event for both and one of the most significant in the midweek fixture list.

Following the 0:4 defeat At Manchester United on Sunday, it seems as if the general consensus of the Everton fanbase is now that Sean DycheThe club’s days are numbered unless they can pull off a miraculous turnaround in their fortunes this month.

With the takeover by new owners The Friedkin Group this month, it is clear that Dyche’s popularity with fans is now waning, and the fact that Everton’s away ground at Old Trafford was virtually empty after half-time at the weekend is a clear indicator.

Everton’s December fixture list looks treacherous, with trips to Arsenal and Manchester City looming, as well as home games with Chelsea and rivals and league leaders Liverpool, where picking up three points here is hugely important.

Dyche’s side is fair two points above the drop zoneafter taking 11 points from their first 13 games – their worst record at this point in a season since 1994.

But the grim statistics don’t end there, as Sunday’s 4-0 defeat was the fifth time Everton have suffered a four-goal defeat under Dyche in just 58 Premier League games.

To put that into context: David Moyes refereed almost seven times more Premier League games and only suffered this fate seven times.

The Toffees have not scored since October, their worst record in four goalless games in almost three years, and it is the lack of quality in the final third that is bothering them, as in that time they have still managed 69 Score shots and create an xG value of 4.5.

It is therefore no surprise that Everton are the division’s worst scorers and the team appear unable to create chances in open play – something that continues to frustrate fans.

In 32 games this calendar year, Everton have scored just 12 open goals, an average of just 0.68 xG per game from open play over that time and the second lowest number of chances created in the Premier League this season.

The hosts now face a side who have won on their last three visits to Goodison and Wolves’ unbeaten record against Everton now stands at six games.

However, Wolves have not had much success since their last away win last August and a 3-0 win in the second leg over the holidays.

Schedules have become much simpler on paper Gary O’NeilManchester United’s side got off to a very difficult start, but after beating Fulham 4-1 last week, Wolves undid all that good work lost 2:4 at home against Bournemouth on Saturday.

This ended their four-game unbeaten run and the Molineux supporters booed the team at the final whistle, while defensive problems comically gifted the Cherries three penalties.

Wolves have this by far leakiest defense in the Premier League, having conceded 32 goals so far, with Leicester City’s 27 goals being the second worst.

The visitors’ only goal conceded was a home win against bottom-placed Southampton and they have not managed to keep an away goal since January. So this will be an exciting battle against the weakest attack in the league.

Dyche announced the Chelsea loanee Armando Broja looks “very fit” after a long break and the Albanian striker could be close to making his Everton debut.

Given their attacking woes, they desperately need another option in attack Dominic Calvert Lewin was dropped on Sunday for the first time this season, with Beto finally given a chance right from the start.

Youssef Chermiti is another attacker close to a return, but he is a few weeks behind Broja in his recovery despite being an important midfielder James Garner is not back in full training yet.

Wolves will be without Nelson Semedo after his fifth yellow card of the season resulted in a suspension Yerson Mosquera And Boubacar Traore remain injured, but the away team should have plenty of players to fall back on after recent setbacks.

Santiago Bueno And Pablo Sarabia Were not risked against Bournemouth, but could certainly start here Hwang Hee-chan He is also improving his fitness after a recent injury and has made two substitute appearances in the last two games.

He was goalkeeper after conceding two penalties at the weekend Jose Sat could risk losing his place in the team Sam Johnstone fully fit again.

Possible Everton starting lineup:
Pickford; Young, Tarkovsky, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Doucour; Harrison, McNeil, Ndiaye; Calvert Lewin

Possible Wolverhampton Wanderers starting lineup:
Johnstone; Lemina, Bueno, Dawson; R. Gomes, J. Gomes, Andre, Ait-Nouri; Sarabia, Larsen Beach, Cunha

We say: Everton 0-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers

With just seven wins in 35 games and one home win all season, Everton are showing no signs of stopping their recent poor streak, especially given their very poor attacking results.

Wolves have been hapless in defense all season, so it will be an exciting battle against Everton’s weak attack, but their own attacking quality should be enough to penetrate a home defense that is currently sorely lacking in confidence.
