AA look at Sunday’s Week 17 game between the Giants and Colts at MetLife Stadium:

Marquee matchup

There’s a shift at the top for the Giants as center John Michael Schmitz (ankle) misses his first game of the season.

That means Greg Van Roten will move from right guard to center and backups Aaron Stinnie and rookie Jake Kubas will occupy the guard spots.

Buckner, 30, has 6.5 sacks this season despite missing five games.

Since joining the Colts in 2020, Buckner has more sacks (39) than any other defensive tackle in the league other than the Chiefs’ Chris Jones.

This is the Giants’ ninth different offensive line combination this season, giving the Patriots the most in the league.

Paul’s choice

The Colts began the weekend chasing a final playoff spot in the AFC.

The Giants have gone 69-21 over the past two weeks, and it remains to be seen whether their depleted and loss-weary roster can still muster a fighting team.

If they don’t act against Jonathan Taylor, he will tear them apart.

Oh, by the way, Drew Lock started again at quarterback.

Colts 23, Giants 17.

Four defeats

Good Nabers: Another week, another loss and more proof that Malik Nabers is making progress in his rookie season.

He was asked how difficult it was for him during that 10-game losing streak, and the 21-year-old couldn’t separate his fear from his teammates’ feelings.

“It’s hard for everyone,” Nabers said. “It’s not just hard for me. I continue to stay strong (mentally), continue to make progress, continue to try to improve the team and myself. Lead by example. “I feel like that’s really all we can do in this state of mind that we’re going through.”

Start: Tyrone Tracy didn’t look like a running back against the Falcons last week when he ran a route that took him into the end zone, moved to the back line to break free, then dove for the catch and an impressive double-toe -Tap scored on inbounds receptions to stay for his first NFL touchdown reception.

Tracy looked like a wide receiver in this game, which isn’t surprising – he was a receiver at Iowa for three years before moving to running back at Purdue.

“That’s true,” offensive coordinator Mike Kafka said. “He had those skills coming out of college, which is why we loved him coming out. “This can be developed further.”

Young and restless: The Giants will be in the quarterback market for the 2025 draft, and teams make mistakes more often than they get right.

Right now, things are looking more wrong than right for Anthony Richardson and the Colts.

Richardson, the No. 4 overall pick in 2023, was benched for two games to work on his preparation. He’s a fantastic athlete but a below-average passer, completing just 47.7 percent of his passes this season with eight touchdown passes and 12 interceptions.

Richardson is listed as questionable as he is dealing with foot and back problems but has not practiced all week.

It’s more likely that 39-year-old Joe Flacco will start for the Colts.

Rating game: Hello? Is there anyone out there watching?

This isn’t a surprise, but according to Puck’s John Ourand, the Giants’ local viewership is down 30 percent compared to last year.

That’s something considering the 2023 season (6-11) wasn’t that hot for the Giants, who were seen in 523,000 homes this season.

By comparison, the Jets’ local viewership fell 29 percent from this season to last, reaching an average of 578,000 households.

The Colts are not must-see TV for anyone outside of the Indianapolis area.

How microscopic will the local viewership be for this bias?
