Game notes

  • After an encouraging win over the Canucks in Vancouver, the Bruins continue their momentum in Western Canada with a visit to the Saddledome, where the Flames are 11-4-1 this season.
  • Calgary has had a similar tumultuous season to the Bruins so far, with each team having 35 points. The Flames have played one of their last three games, but previously they had lost six of seven (with two of those losses coming after regulation time).
  • Oliver Wahlstrom, who was claimed off waivers over the weekend, will wear No. 71 and practice with the Bruins on Monday. However, Joe Sacco has not yet determined when and where he will see his first game action.
  • These two teams played each other at TD Garden a little over a month ago, with the Bruins winning 4-3 in OT. In that game, Brad Marchand won in OT after the Bruins blew a two-goal lead in the third period.
  • Dustin Wolf, who started in goal in that loss at TD Garden, is coming off a 32-save shutout against the Florida Panthers on Saturday.
  • Jonathan Huberdeau, who has struggled to find his footing since landing in Calgary as part of the Matthew Tkachuk trade, is off to a decent start this season. He posted totals of 3G-3A-6PTS in his last five games.
  • After a 5-1 win, I wouldn’t expect Sacco to tinker or change his lineup much – but I’ve been wrong before.

Until tonight!
