Preview, TV, Lines and Notes

The Celtics will look to avoid consecutive losses for the first time this season when they face the visiting Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas Day.

Boston is coming off a 108-104 road loss to the undermanned Magic, who were without three of their top four scorers – Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Mo Wagner. The Celtics had a 15-point halftime lead but were outscored 65-46 in the final two quarters.

Jayson Tatum was ruled out of Monday’s loss just minutes before the start of the game (no COVID illness), but is available for Wednesday’s game, as is Derrick White (right hamstring strain), both of whom were listed as questionable. Jrue Holiday (right shoulder impingement) is out.

The 76ers sit 12th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 10-17 record despite signing nine-time All-Star Paul George in the offseason, joining former MVP Joel Embiid and All-Star Tyrese Maxey. However, Philadelphia has a record of 7-3 in their last 10 games.
