Prime Video documentary about “ChiefsAholic” premieres on Christmas Eve

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A true crime documentary following the story of Kansas City Chiefs superfan and serial bank robber Xaviar Babudar, aka ChiefsAholic, is coming to a streaming platform…just in time for the holidays.

Prime Video announced this ChiefsAholic: A wolf in Chiefs clothing will chronicle Babudar’s rise as a prominent Chiefs fan who attended every game and fell as a man who police allege committed a series of bank robberies.

The premiere takes place on December 24th. According to Deadline, Amazon Prime will release a teaser trailer on Friday after it airs during the Kansas City Chiefs-Las Vegas Raiders football game.

In February, Babudar pleaded guilty to one count of money laundering and one count of transporting stolen property across state lines. Authorities say his charges are related to 11 bank robberies in seven states.

Court documents show that Babudar laundered much of the stolen money through local casinos and online gambling.

Babudar was first arrested on December 16, 2022, following a robbery at a credit union near Tulsa, Oklahoma, several days before the Chiefs were scheduled to play the Texans in Houston.

According to court documents, Babudar injured his ankle and escaped while awaiting trial in Oklahoma. The same documents show he disappeared just days after a casino paid him $100,000 for winning Super Bowl bets on the Chiefs for the 2022 season.

He was on the run for months before being arrested in July 2023 in Sacramento, California.

In federal court documents released after Babudar’s arrest in California, Babudar is accused of robbing financial institutions in 2022 to finance his life by attending Kansas City Chiefs games and other exclusive events.

Babudar also had to turn in a signed painting of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes that the FBI had seized.
