Christian Pulisic was instrumental in AC Milan’s first cup win since 2022, responding after winning the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia.

Milan made for a breathtaking comeback to beat their rivals Inter and win their first trophy of the year after a dramatic 3-2 win. With goals from Lautaro Martinez and Mehdi Taremi either side of the half-time whistle, Inter looked well on their way to a fourth consecutive Supercoppa.

However, Milan knew they couldn’t give up after falling behind against Juventus and turned the game on its head in the second half. Theo Hernandez scored from a free kick to halve the deficit, Christian Pulisic equalized with a great shot and Tammy Abraham won in the final moments.

Not only was it a trophy in Sergio Conceicao’s second game, but it was also the club’s 50th major award overall and in their 125th season. The last-minute winner certainly provided an added element of satisfaction.

Pulisic spoke to Mediaset at the end of the game to explain the emotions he and the team felt after such a dramatic win. His comments were reported by MilanNews.

“I don’t want to say anything, ask him (laughs). Me? No, I don’t smoke (laughs).”

“This trophy was important for us. We changed the game again today, even though it was tough, a good feeling for the group.”

“You could see this hunger today, we changed the game again in the second half. That’s the great team spirit.”
