Purdue football is eliminated by Indiana

BLOOMINGTON – There’s good news, Purdue football fans.

The 2024 season is over.

With a 66-0 loss to 10th-ranked Indiana at Memorial Stadium, the Boilermakers can begin planning for 2025.

Purdue football was buried early

Here are the first half stats that explain exactly how the Boilermakers finished 1-11.

Purdue was eliminated in the first half on Saturday for the fifth time this season. The Boilermakers finished 2024 without a first quarter touchdown against 11 FBS opponents.

Purdue was outscored 104-13 in the first quarter and 236-53 in the first half after Indiana led 28-0 at halftime Saturday.

Sour second half

The second half started with a new quarterback, but the results were no better.

A fumbled handoff exchange from Ryan Browne to Devin Mockobee on the first play was recovered by Indiana and resulted in a field goal.

Indiana continued to attack, even executing a fake punt for an 18-yard gain while leading 38-0 late in the third quarter. Purdue failed to reach triple-digit yardage and turned the ball over four times.
