“Their quarterback is special,” North Oconee coach Tyler Aurandt said. “This guy is one of the best players I’ve seen in the last few years. He’s not a superhero, but he just runs their offense so well and gives them a chance on every play. You have to figure out how to stop him, and I don’t know if anyone has ever done that.”

North Oconee’s quarterback is Harrison Faulkner, a freshman starting junior. Faulkner, the son of Georgia Tech offensive coordinator Buster Faulkner, is an excellent passer with a quick shot and a gift for reading the ball. He’s also a threat to keep the ball and run; He is the leading rusher on the team.

“Their quarterback is very elusive and a great playmaker, either with his feet or with the ball in his hands,” Marist coach Alan Chadwick said. “You have to worry about not giving up on the big game. He’s a gamer and you can tell he’s a competitor. He is well coached and a great leader.”

Euart is the team’s strongest leader; He carried 161 balls for 994 yards and 12 touchdowns. He threw just 73 passes, including 41, for 698 yards and nine touchdowns, with just two interceptions.

Faulkner has thrown for 3,017 yards and 37 touchdowns; He completed 170 of 250 passes with just four interceptions. He completed 105 carries for 713 yards and six touchdowns.

The Class 4A championship game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Monday at 7 p.m.
