Quick thoughts after the game: Iowa – Mizzou Today: Missouri Tigers Football & Basketball Recruiting

Here’s what went through my mind right after the final whistle as Mizzou defeated Iowa to win its 10th game of the season.

1. Man, it’s so clear Brady Cook wasn’t just injured in the final games of the season. I expect we will hear a little more about this in the press conference or next week.

He looked by far his best running and throwing this year. I don’t think the season as a whole will look all that different if he’s been this healthy all year, but the offense certainly would have looked a lot better. Cook approached 300 yards passing and had 54 rushing yards. It was by far his best passing game and close to his best rushing game.

2. The defense looked pretty tough the whole game. I really thought without Caleb Johnson the Hawkeyes would have trouble running the ball – they didn’t. But the Tigers got the job done when they had to at the end of the game, and that’s all that really matters.

3. Marquis Johnson He played an incredible game, I’m much more confident in his overall abilities than I was at the start of this game. 7 catches for 122 and a touchdown is a great career high leading to the win.

4. I had heard a few things Blake Craig Slander of the last few weeks again. He definitely had his problems, but he easily managed two over 50 and won that game. He will be fine in the future.

Two seasons with double-digit wins in a row is a great record. It’s only the third time in school history, so celebrate.
