Rams head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford discuss all-around dominance in Wild Card victory over the Vikings

“I felt like we had a good plan and then the guys made plays for me, so it was great. Just try to go out there and be aggressive, this time of year it doesn’t really reward you to be his. “I’ve got to go out there and win games in the playoffs. So, I thought that’s how we played. – Stafford

Stafford completed his first 10 pass attempts and helped Los Angeles score two straight times early in the game. That was a result of their approach: “We want to be aggressive,” Stafford said. He added that having Week 18 off to get healthier was “huge” for him as he wasn’t playing at his best towards the end of the season. On Monday, however, he turned things around and helped the Rams advance to the divisional round.

Stafford said that after the offense took an early lead, the defense “just went crazy and attacked the quarterback.” This was the case in all four quarters as the Rams made as many sacks as the points allowed.

Speaking about the circumstances of the wildfires, Stafford said, “We played not just for ourselves, but for the people at home who needed something to look at and enjoy, and I’m glad we were able to provide that for them.” Stafford said he “can’t say enough” that the fans came to Arizona to support and that the organization made the atmosphere possible on short notice.

Next week’s game with the Eagles will be another rematch from earlier in the year, and Stafford said last time that “they gave us everything we could,” so they need to start preparing immediately.
