Randy Moss’ Son Slams Larry Fitzgerald Sr. for Posting About His Father’s Health Issues: ‘You Have No Right’

Randy Moss’ son didn’t mince his words after Larry Fitzgerald Sr. posted about his father’s health on social media and claimed that Moss had liver cancer.

Amid Moss’s leave of absence from his job NFL countdown on Sunday For a “personal health challenge,” Fitzgerald Sr., father of former star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald Jr. and sportscaster, posted about Moss’ health on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Moss’ son Thaddeus responded directly to the post, criticizing Fitzgerald Sr. for publicly speculating about his father’s health. “This is disgusting. “You have no right to try to make private matters public in order to get engaged,” Thaddeus replied to X. “I don’t think my father is talking to you, so check your damn sources.”

On Friday, December 6, it was announced that Randy, 47, would be stepping down NFL countdown on Sunday to focus on his health – although Randy didn’t elaborate on what those issues were.

ESPN insider Adam Schefter shared the network’s statement about Moss’s leave of absence in a post on X.

“Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy Moss will be stepping away from Sunday NFL Countdown for an extended period of time to focus on a personal health challenge. “He briefly addressed the matter at the start of the broadcast on December 1,” the network’s statement said.

“For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team and has continued to advance Countdown with his insight and passion. He has the full support of ESPN and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready,” the statement continued.

ESPN’s statement followed Randy’s Dec. 1 announcement during the NFL countdown on Sunday broadcast that his family was “struggling with something internally.”

Randy then said he has “some great doctors around him” and is feeling “great,” but added, “I’m fighting something and I need all the prayer warriors.”

In an Instagram post before the show on December 1, Randy urged fans to take their health seriously. “Do all your checkups, do your blood work and we’ll take care of it,” he said in the video.

In a follow-up clip, Randy addressed the questions that will likely arise regarding his health. “There will be people who are concerned and ask questions. For now, I’ll just keep a lot of things private. Just be patient with me. But like I said, I need your prayers,” he said at the time.

Following Thaddeus’ post on December 10, his father’s former teammate Brett Favre also posted well wishes and prayers on X. “Prayers to Randy Moss and his family.🙏 Randy remains one of the all-time greats to run a route. Definitely at NFL WR Mt. Rushmore,” Favre wrote.

Thaddeus thanked Favre and wrote: “Brett, we really appreciate the support. That is not true. My father will speak to the world when he is ready.”
