Randy Moss is skipping ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown for the time being due to health reasons. Moss addressed the issue on the show last week, explaining why he wore blue-tinted sunglasses on the show.

In a statement released Friday, ESPN PR announced that Moss “will be away from the show for an extended period of time to focus on a personal health issue.”

“He has the full support of ESPN and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready,” the network added in the statement.

The Hall of Fame receiver and now-analyst opened the show last Sunday by saying that he was “struggling with something internally” and that’s why he would be wearing blue-tinted glasses on the broadcast.

“I have some great doctors around me. I couldn’t miss the show, I wanted to be here with you, I feel great. But when y’all see me with these Michigan turnover glasses that I have on, that’s not being disrespectful,” Moss said Sunday. “I’m fighting something.”

In a video posted to Instagram last Sunday, Moss said he had been dealing with the “internal” issue throughout Thanksgiving week and encouraged people to check with their doctors.

Moss has been an analyst on “Sunday NFL Countdown” since 2016 and is the show’s longest-serving panelist.
