Sources claimed that Maco had been in a coma since Thursday and that his condition had recently deteriorated, leaving him in critical condition. Hospital staff reportedly failed to revive him.

Before his death, doctors reportedly struggled to perform a proper brain scan as they tried to flush toxins from Maco’s body.

According to TMZ, Maco was found by police at his Los Angeles-area home with a gun nearby after a neighbor called 911 and reported hearing a gunshot at the star’s home on the morning of Dec. 12.

Unresponsive, he was taken to a local hospital and immediately underwent surgery.

“At this time, we politely ask that you respect our privacy. However, if you would like to send messages or share something with the family, please reach out via DM.”

They continued: “We thank you for your understanding, support and continued prayers during this difficult time.”

Before his hospitalization, rumors circulated online that Maco was dead.
