The world is learning more about the two-time Olympic champion, whose story is told in the film “The Fire Inside.”

However, a catfight of sorts broke out on Thursday, with the athlete’s name trending on social media.

Who is Claressa Shields?

In 2012, Shields became the first American woman to win an Olympic gold medal in boxing, competing in the middleweight division. She returned to the Olympics and won the gold medal again in 2016.

Will Remy Ma fight Claressa Shields?

Rapper Remy Ma (“Lean Back,” “All the Way Up”) criticized her husband Papoose on social media Thursday for having an affair with Shields.

Born Reminisce Kioni Smith, the rapper starred alongside Pappose (Shamele Mackie) on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop: New York” and “Remy & Papoose: Meet the Mackies.”

Remy Ma released screenshots of alleged text conversations between Shields and Papoose, whom Remy Ma has been married to since 2008. Remy and Papoose were a poster child for Black Love enthusiasts.

Remy Ma, 44, was jailed for shooting a woman outside a New York nightclub in 2007.

Remy and Papoose, 46, married while incarcerated. She was released in 2014.

Papoose later posted on his social media that Remy Ma had repeatedly cheated on him and that he wanted a divorce.

Shields accused Remy of having two boyfriends during her marriage to Papoose in a now-deleted reply to Remy Ma and has continued to chat back and forth with the rapper on x.
