Rapper Yak Gotti stabbed to death in Fulton County Jail Annex – WSB-TV Channel 2

ATLANTA – Multiple sources confirmed Channel 2 action news that Deamonte Kendrick, who raps under the name Yak Gotti, was stabbed to death on Sunday.

The stabbing occurred in the south annex of the Fulton County Jail in Union City, not the main facility on Rice Street.

sources told Channel 2’s Michael Seiden that Kendrick suffered minor injuries and is expected to be in court on Monday as jurors continue to deliberate his fate in the Young Slime Life trial.

Monday around 8:45 a.m., Channel 2 action news received the following statement from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

“Deamonte Kendrick, also known as rapper Yak Gotti, and another prison inmate had a physical altercation on Sunday, December 1st. Kendrick was treated at the Fulton County Jail for minor injuries from a sharp object. The incident occurred at the South Annex in Union City, where both men were staying. Kendrick will be in court today. This is an active investigation to identify the perpetrator of this incident and determine whether charges will be pending.”

Kendrick and Shannon Stillwell are the two remaining defendants in the YSL trial, the longest criminal trial in state history.

Last week, prosecutors and defense attorneys completed their closing arguments. Jurors began deliberating Tuesday afternoon but decided to go home for Thanksgiving break on Wednesday.

The discussions are expected to continue on Monday.
