Ravens safety brutally shoots Russell Wilson after forcing fumble: ‘Not that hard’

BALTIMORE – Baltimore Ravens safety Ar’Darius Washington is one of the smallest players on the football field, but his play against Russell Wilson on Saturday was a huge play. Wilson’s 20-yard rush turned from a great play into a disaster after he fumbled and the Ravens recovered the football.

After the game, Washington was asked how difficult this play was, especially for Wilson, who is someone who can make plays in the open field. For Washington, it was one of the easier tackles he’s made in his NFL career.

“It wasn’t too hard. It actually wasn’t too hard at all. Yes,” Washington said.

Wilson took the blame for the fumble, saying he thought he had a cutback lane and went deep into the end zone on the play.

“I thought I had a chance to get in the end zone,” Wilson said. “I tried to cut back and just got hit. Just before I hit the ground the ball came out. Unacceptable. This can’t happen.”

Wilson tried to make a play without George Pickens, but the offense needed a spark. His fumble was the turning point in the game and one of the key reasons the Steelers lost the game.
