Real Madrid star makes decision on possible exit

A Real Madrid first-team star has made a decision about his immediate future after being linked with a possible exit from the club in January MARCAwhich quoted anonymous sources.

President Florentino Perez was believed to have pulled off a major coup when he signed Endrick from Sao Paulo giants Palmeiras at the end of 2022.

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano said the deal was worth $63.3 million (€60 million) and was officially completed this summer when the Brazilian came of age and crossed the Atlantic.

Introduced around the same time as Perez’s Galactico Kylian Mbappe 2024, Endrick enjoyed a dream start to life in Europe, scoring goals in his La Liga and Champions League debuts and breaking a number of records along the way.

However, both he and fellow teenage prodigy Arda Guler have endured a difficult spell this season, barely getting a quarter of an hour of playing time during the international breaks in October and November.

While Guler has risen to prominence over the last two weeks and scored a goal in the starting lineup against Girona on Saturday, Endrick made a brief appearance at the end of the 3-0 win and received a double blow on the head for his troubles.

SPORTCiting anonymous sources, he had previously reported that Endrick “has options to leave Madrid” as “several clubs” had knocked on the Bernabeu’s door to “suggest a loan deal in January.”

These included Roma in Italy’s Serie A, Southampton in the Premier League and Valladolid elsewhere in La Liga.

Still MARCA reported Sunday that Endrick has closed the door on a temporary exit.

Although he obviously wants to play more, he doesn’t “despair” over his lack of inclusion and remains confident “that his moment will come.”

When the time comes, he will know “how to take advantage of the opportunity that Carlo Ancelotti can give him” to show that he is “worth more than just playing individual minutes in the final moments of games.”

Endrick has dealt with similar situations at Palmeiras and is confident he can do it again.

He is of course in direct competition with Mbappe for a central striker spot, but Vinicius Jr’s absence through injury effectively means Mbappe can be deployed on the left, leaving their shared spot vacant.

Furthermore, the number of competitions Madrid will take part in this season (seven in total) and the frequency of injuries could mean that the teenager increasingly finds his way onto the pitch.
