Real Madrid vs Getafe player ratings: Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe bounce back from their terrible displays at Anfield to close the gap on struggling La Liga leaders Barcelona

Los Blancos’ main attacking duo played a key role as Carlo Ancelotti’s side secured a comfortable win

Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe recovered from their recent problems to both get on the scoresheet as Real Madrid beat Getafe 2-0 on Sunday.

The duo found their attacking prowess after a morbid midweek performance in the Champions League, scoring both goals in the first half for an eventual comfortable win that saw Madrid move to within a point of La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Los Blancos struggled to score early on as the absence of Vinicius Jr. limited their attacking power. However, a stupid defender gave the visitors the lead when Antonio Rüdiger was dragged to the ground in the penalty area before a Madrid corner. The referee pointed to the penalty spot and Bellingham converted the resulting penalty.

The second goal came just before half-time when Mbappe fired a wonderful shot wide of the post after some great work from Bellingham.

Getafe, in turn, offered more ideas after the break, testing Thibaut Courtois a few times before Chrisantus Uche and John Patrick both hit the post.

Still, nothing really came about. Madrid could have made it three or four, but misses from Rodrygo and Mbappe ensured it was close. In the end, however, two were enough.
